Kyogle Osteopathy & Wellbeing was founded by Shannon Apps in 2019. Shannon's rural upbringing, passion for health and love of the Northern Rivers region inspired her to open a multi-disciplinary clinic in Kyogle. Shannon and her team, having all come from the bush, are dedicated to improving health outcomes for people living in rural areas. The team enjoys assisting people move through their pain by helping them understand the nature of their injury, and empowering them with the knowledge and the tools they need to help themselves.

Dr Shannon Apps

Principal Osteopath

Shannon is a government registered Osteopath who has completed both a Bachelor of Clinical Science and a Master of Osteopathic Medicine.

 

Shannon originates from the North West NSW country town of Moree. Her rural upbringing, passion for health and love of the Northern Rivers region has inspired her to open a multi-disciplinary clinic in Kyogle.

 

Shannon enjoys gardening, yoga and spending time with family and friends.

 

With a gentle approach to treatment tailored to the individual, Shannon uses more indirect methods, including strain-counter-strain, soft tissue & muscle energy techniques, cranial osteopathy and balanced ligamentous tension.

Dr Isabel Carey

Osteopath

Izzy is a government registered Osteopath who has completed both a Bachelor of Clinical Science and Master of Osteopathic Medicine at Southern Cross University (SCU), where she also has the privilege of working one day a week amongst the Anatomy teaching staff.  

Izzy’s passion for helping people understand and manage their pain is what lured her to the Northern Rivers, having had a rural upbringing in Far West NSW. Izzy enjoys treating people of all ages and walks of life, and is looking forward to meeting you and explaining how Osteopathy can help. In her spare time, you can find Izzy out in the bush riding her motorbike, or enjoying the sunny Northern Rivers with her family.

Izzy loves the investigatory nature of Osteopathy. Whether it be chronic pain you’ve been struggling with for years, an acute sports injury, or a headache that’s clouding your day, Izzy is passionate about helping you understand your pain condition, and giving you tools to rehabilitate as soon as possible.

John Shea

Remedial Massage Therapist & Osteopathic student

John is an experienced Remedial Massage Therapist who is completing a Bachelor of Osteopathy at Southern Cross University in Lismore.

 

John has lived throughout various parts of Australia. A back injury, whilst working in the horse industry, lead John to remedial massage and after experiencing the health benefits, prompted him to pursue remedial massage as a career.

 

John enjoys trail running, hiking and embracing a healthy lifestyle.

 

Developing a treatment approach to suit the individual’s needs, John utilizes relaxation, deep tissue, cupping and sports massage to relieve the presenting complaint and balance the whole body.
